Summary: "out of touch with College Girls!"

The reviews made me buy this. I feel like they aren't talking about this book.

It seems like the authors have no clue about what 99% of girls in college are like. First, they quote a a girl from Spelman College who talks about all the guys on campus. Spelman is a WOMEN's college! One of the main people, Alison Davis, complains that her "world has ended" because she's stuck at Barnard, an Ivy League School. They say twice not to bring your High School Yearbooks. (I'm bringing them, I happen to love my friends, plus it's a great way to introduce yourself to people.) Plus, they write about facebook like no one knows what it is. These are a few examples.

I realized that almost everyone who wrote official and amazon reviews aren't students. Maybe that explains why it's so out-of touch.

If youre a student who wants to know about what college is like, you'll be insulted. I'm not trying to be mean, just honest.

Summary: "Just borrow if you can."

It has *some* helpful hints, but I felt that most come from common sense; eat healthy and exercise in order to be fit. Duh?

The writers introduce lots of good topics for advice and discussion, but hardly touch upon them, at least not to the extent that would be truly helpful or likely to be remembered, in my opinion. Of course, for further discussion, as the book reiterates, you can always go to their website to talk to other soon-to-be college students if you have any questions.

Somewhere in the book it says that this guide can be helpful to keep during all four (or more) years of college. I imagine that I'll get more help from actually talking to people for more in-depth help if I need it. All of this is just a basic outline of what to possibly expect in college; meeting new people, joining a club, knowing when to not leave your BFF plastered in some random person's bathroom by herself. You know, all that stuff you couldn't figure out on your own.

On the not so harsh side, it's probably worth a couple of reads, but, for me, it wasn't worth the price. I advised my friend not to buy it herself so that she can just borrow my copy. I advise the same to everyone else - check the library first.

Summary: "Love it!"

I love the amount of detail this book goes into. It covers everything you want to know as an incoming freshman from healthy eating habits, to sorority rushes. It has real college girls biographies, which makes the book very readable, and relatable. This is the perfect gift for a highschool senior or highschool grad!

Summary: "Even as a guy I can tell this is great for women going off to college or already there!"

The stories, advice, information and tips found in U Chic: The College Girl's Guide to Everything are priceless. This is the kind of book I would want my sisters to have as they begin to explore college or even after they have already settled in. As a former student leader on campus, I attended numerous lectures and presentations throughout my 4 years in school where advice was given as to how to adjust to college life and be successful. This book offers everything I heard all at once! There is useful information that pertains to every kind of college student whether you're Greek, live in the residence halls, a freshman, a senior, involved in organizations or just focused on finding a major.

Summary: "Great Gift!"

University Chic was a great read. When I graduated from college I remember receiving a college survival guide but found it to be not very helpful. University Chic really makes each "experience" real and brings up topics that most books gloss over. A must read for anyone who is getting ready for college or for anyone who would like to relive college!
